Return to Work/Light Duty Policy
Policy Statement:
At Caliber Construction Alaska LLC, we understand the importance of supporting our employees in their recovery and transition back to work following an injury, illness, or other medical condition. Our Return to Work/Light Duty Policy is designed to facilitate a smooth and safe return to the workplace while ensuring the health and well-being of our employees.
Purpose:
The purpose of this policy is to outline the procedures and guidelines for employees who are returning to work on light duty assignments after a period of absence due to medical reasons. This policy aims to provide a structured framework for the return-to-work process, promoting employee rehabilitation, productivity, and workplace safety.
Scope:
This policy applies to all employees of Caliber Construction Alaska LLC who are returning to work following an injury, illness, or other medical condition that necessitates a modified or light duty assignment.
Policy Guidelines
Medical Clearance:
Employees returning to work on light duty assignments must obtain medical clearance from their treating physician indicating their ability to perform modified duties safely.
The company reserves the right to request additional medical documentation or evaluations to ensure the employee's fitness for light duty work.
Communication:
Employees are required to promptly notify their supervisor and the HR department of any medical conditions that may affect their ability to perform their regular job duties.
Supervisors will maintain open communication with employees throughout the return-to-work process to discuss work restrictions, accommodations, and any necessary adjustments.
Light Duty Assignments:
Light duty assignments will be determined based on the employee's medical restrictions and the availability of suitable tasks within the company.
Every effort will be made to assign meaningful and productive tasks that align with the employee's skills and abilities while accommodating their medical restrictions.
Duration of Light Duty:
The duration of light duty assignments will be determined on a case-by-case basis, taking into account the employee's medical condition, progress, and any recommendations from healthcare providers.
Periodic reevaluations will be conducted to assess the employee's readiness to return to full duty or to make adjustments to their light duty assignment as needed.
Accommodations and Support:
